Brian James Theobald
Brian Theobald has developed a
reputation as a dynamic business development leader and sales manager
with successes spanning from start-up to mature companies. He is an
insightful, creative strategist, with expertise in delivering and
implementing plans to expand markets globally and forge key new
relationships and alliances while ensuring optimal customer satisfaction
levels from core business. Mr. Theobald has also proven his mettle at
building and leading teams to consistently meet and exceed
organizational objectives. He is also proficient at turning around
struggling organizations to achieve profitability and increased revenue
growth within tight time frames.
For the past several years, Mr. Theobald has been the Executive Director
of BKS Development Company, Inc, providing a broad range of business
expertise to organizations spanning industries including technology,
production, education, Internet, hospitality, and event management.
During the Internet explosion, Brian took on another promising
opportunity with startup, Aveo, Inc. Aveo, Inc., was the pioneer of the
PC Help Network, and this marked Brian’s foray into true Business
Development where he used his natural talents to attract the right
people and the right customers, at the right time. Aveo was acquired by
Infomediary Technology Solutions, a subsidiary of Internet market giant
AllAdvantage.com.
Prior to joining Aveo, Inc., Mr. Theobald again took the technology
growth curve and accepted a role of Vice President of Sales & Marketing
with Adventive Technologies, an Enterprise Application Integration
pioneer in the newly forming B2B arena. He quickly staffed his sales and
marketing organization and also landed several major accounts, including
Lockheed, TRW and Boeing. He also worked with the CEO on secondary
rounds of venture funding among many other executive duties.
Before joining Adventive Technologies, Mr. Theobald enjoyed a long and
successful tenure with Phoenix Publishing Systems, a division of Phoenix
Technologies, the industry BIOS giant. Phoenix was leading the way with
Microsoft as Microsoft’s world-wide Authorized Replicator for all PC
OEM’s. Brian seized the opportunity quickly and was promoted to VP of
North America Sales and shortly thereafter, promoted again to VP &
General Manager reporting to the President & CEO.
As a key member of the Executive Management Team, he held full P&L
responsibility for the division and increased that division’s revenue by
$30 million in just over 16 months; primarily with computing partner AST
Computer, but also with major wins at Dell, Compaq, Micron among others.
His zest for leadership was manifest in his oversight of running 4
regional centers with 12 direct and over 180 indirect reports. Phoenix
Publishing entered the Internet era with a majority stake purchased by
conglomerate Softbank and soon after changed its name to Softbank
Content Services. Mr. Theobald remained at Softbank Content through the
subsequent acquisition by Naviant/Equifax.
In the pioneering stage of “Office Automation Software” Brian joined
industry pioneer and leader Quadratron Systems, growing revenues 230%
over a three year period and eventually promoted to VP of North America
Operations, holding full P&L responsibility and reporting to the
Chairman of the U.K. parent company. After four years, Brian made his
next successful step in his career path.
Early In his career, Mr. Theobald hit his successes with Locus Computing
Corporation and quickly moved up to Manage National Accounts. He landed
Locus’ then largest contract with AT&T Federal Systems Group for the
AFCAC251 contract with the U.S. Air Force; valued over several million
dollars. He broadened his unique and dynamic leadership traits by
overseeing the inside sales organization.
Mr. Theobald’s educational background includes degrees from Northern
Illinois University; one from the College of Business with a Marketing
emphasis and the second from the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences with
a Journalism emphasis in Corporate Public Relations.
Mr. Theobald is actively involved in several philanthropic organizations
with board level roles including: The Trevor Project, The Point
Foundation, Pets90210.org and The Thalians Mental Health Center in
Beverly Hills. He has traveled extensively and he maintains strong
family ties.
